Max Cleworth has named Ollie Palmer as Wrexham’s biggest movie star wannabe, with the Red Dragons striker taking inspiration from Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds, along with fellow co-chairman Rob McElhenney, has often invited famous friends over to North Wales, allowing Wrexham’s playing squad to rub shoulders with the likes of Will Ferrell, Hugh Jackman, Eva Longoria, Paul Rudd and Channing Tatum.

Some have been bitten by the acting bug, with Palmer and Paul Mullin both landing cameo roles alongside Reynolds and Jackman in the Deadpool & Wolverine blockbuster. Cleworth admits that certain Red Dragons are more comfortable in front of the camera than others.

He’s always ready. He’s naturally quite good in front of the camera. He’s been in a few [movies] now. He needs a few more to get his portfolio up a bit.”
