Tottenham have put goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario on their match programme for Thursday's game vs Roma just days after he suffered a fractured ankle.

The goalkeeper faces a long period on the sidelines after he sustained a fractured ankle in his side's 4-0 win against Manchester City on Saturday, with Vicario later saying he played with the injury for 60 minutes.

The north London club had terrible timing when it came to selecting the star for the cover of their matchday programme for the Europa League match against Roma, having made the Italian goalkeeper the focus. Vicario has started two Europa League matches this season, with backup option Fraser Forster getting the nod in the other two. Forster, 36, will be back in goal on Thursday.

While Forster will be trusted to fill in for Vicario in the Premier League from now on, the north London side could opt to sign a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window.
