Aston Villa announced the signing of Lille winger Anwar El Ghazi before their 2-2 draw with Brentford on Wednesday at Villa Park, and fans of the club on Twitter have been urging Steve Bruce to start him against Reading.
Villa host the Royals at 3pm on Saturday and will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run at the start of the season that has seen them record two wins and two draws after what was a tumultuous summer.
The club fell into huge financial problems after missing out on promotion to the Premier League having lost to Fulham 1-0 in the playoff final and faced a winding-up order from HMRC over unpaid taxes. However, when billionaires Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens were able to buy a controlling stake in the club from Dr Tony Xia all problems were resolved.
Villa were able to keep hold of their prized asset Jack Grealish and boss Steve Bruce has now been able to add to his squad. El Ghazi arrived on a season-long loan from Lille after spending just one season in Ligue 1 following a move from Ajax.
Fans on Twitter were calling for the tricky 23-year-old winger to be thrown in from the start against a Reading side that sit second from bottom in the table with just one point. Check out some of the best tweets below.
