Leeds United suffered their first defeat under Marcelo Bielsa on Tuesday evening, tumbling out of the Carabao Cup in the second round.
A woeful first half saw the Peacocks lose 2-0 at Elland Road and the hosts could not fight back into the game despite their opponents playing over an hour of the game with ten men, following Ryan Ledson’s dismissal.
Bielsa made nine changes to his side from the victory over Norwich City, keeping one eye firmly cast on this weekend’s crucial Championship clash with Middlesbrough, and the players drafted in were unable to take advantage of their opportunity.
Amongst those was Stuart Dallas, making his first appearance since the opening weekend’s win over Stoke City, but he had a game to forget after giving the ball away and seeing his side concede an early penalty.
