Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to reveal that they want Timo Werner, following the striker’s two-goal display against Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
The 28-cap Germany international now has 15 goals in 17 games this season, and has also racked up seven assists in what has been a spectacular campaign for the 23-year-old.
Werner is reportedly a target for Liverpool and The Mirror claim that the Reds would ideally like to sign the forward ‘next year’, while rivals Manchester United also look to hijack the Merseysiders’ interest.
Additionally, German outlet Kicker report that Werner has a likely release clause of a ‘moderate’ €30m (£25.8m).
After hearing of his scintillating form so far this term, as well as his surprisingly low release clause, some Liverpool fans have revealed their desire to see the former Stuttgart attacker arrive at Anfield – one supporter said that he’d rather see Werner signed over Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman has recently been linked with the club according to reports in Spain.
Let’s take a look at some more of the Twitter reaction…
