West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is confident that Premier League survival will help him maintain his job at Upton Park.
The former Bolton and Blackburn boss’ future has been called into question in recent weeks, with speculation mounting that the Hammers may look to place a new man at the helm of the club this summer.
But, Allardyce, who guided the Londoners back into the top flight, has played down talk that he could be moving on during the off-season, insisting that maintaining Premier League status will keep him in charge at West Ham:
“Staying in the Premier League is everything about my future – that is all I have had to say over the last few weeks.” He is quoted by Sky Sports.
He went on to claim that he is still happy to be in East London, and is enjoying life back in the Premier League:
“It is where I want to be and where I want to apply my skills because I like the euphoria, excitement and pressure that it brings.
“It is the best league in the world and the most entertaining, so plying your trade in it is what you want to do.”
A number of candidates have been linked Allardyce’s position, including former club icon Paolo di Canio.
The controversial Italian recently stepped down from his role at Swindon Town, after impressing with the Wiltshire outfit.
